After impressing the audience at countless concerts and festivals, Swiss duo OY will join us in Egypt to celebrate Pro Helvetia Cairo’s 30th anniversary this month with two concerts in Cairo and Alexandria.

In Cairo, the concert is organized by Pro Helvetia Cairo in collaboration with Mada Masr on July 25, at Underground club.

In collaboration with Bibliotheca Alexandrina Art Center, OY will be performing as part of the 16th edition of the International Summer Festival, organized by the center, on July 26, at the great hall of the Bibliotheca.

While their previous album’s cheerful electro-sample sound was most likely to be located in the melting pots of African metropolises, OY now beam their new tracks far into the future. Surrounded by catchy avant-garde electronica based on a core of vocal loops and pulsing beats, they find themselves dancing to the story of a carefree future on planet “Space Diaspora” where humanity is finally developing the ability to learn from their mistakes. On this second joint album OY humorously reflect on topics such as transhumanism, diaspora and transculturation – and it is said that the force of the duo is particularly evident when brought back to stage.

Join us in Cairo or Alexandria, and let’s celebrate together!
