Jörg Köppl lives and works as a freelance artist and composer in Zurich. He is interested in social synchronization processes, which he explores in mostly auditory settings. He designs experimental radio and sound projects that have been performed at festivals such as Ars Electronica, Artprospect (St. Petersburg) and Bienal de Sao Paulo or on his own (Zurich and Cairo). He has been working with Peter Zacek for many years in the performance duo Koeppl-Zacek, which examines the physical and social realities of the body. As artistic director of Ensemble Tzara 2015/2016, he curated the concert series “Tzürich – Interaction rhythms in a perfect city”, which took place in public places and on the Zurich Stock Exchange, among other places. In 2011, Jörg Köppl founded the ensemble metanoia, whose latest production, Beatme Me, was developed together with Tim Zulauf and premiered in 2017 at the Theaterhaus Gessneralle Zurich.
