Gabriel Stöckli (Balerna, 1991)
His practice is geared towards the loss of horizons of meaning. A reflection wandering in current times when the boundaries of the landscape are blurred. His artworks are built with simple materials and show an experimental attitude, quintessential to the ethics and the times of DIY. The harshness and simplicity of forms suggest the feeling of precariousness and uncertainty that is typical of his generation.
Time is essential in choosing the forms, in the actions and in the objects involved in all his production. Worrying about an uncertain future causes him to research for a collective feeling. This is found by the artist in involving people as witnesses while producing his projects. Some exhibitions (selected and solo) in which he participated: Storielle, Spazio Officina, Chiassoo (2021), EMO, Schwobhaus, Bern (2020); Masquenada, MÂT, Neuchâtel (2019); Conversa, Current Project, Milan (2016, show only); Estate, autunno, State_of, Milan (2019); From cities to us, Spazio Lampo, Chiasso (2018); The Great Learning, La Triennale di Milan (2017); Rhein am Reno, Gelateria sogni di ghiaccio, Bologna (2017); 1795: Kilo | 1960: Giga, La Rada, Locarno (2016); Cali Gold Rush, Lucie Fontaine, Milan (2014).
