Alexandra Baumgartner is a Swiss artist who uses photography as a tool within her research-led practice, converging documentary approaches with agricultural research, artistic interpretations, and on-site interventions. Her current work focuses on the entanglement of plant and human life and our responsibility towards what we call “nature” in a time marked by ecological crisis events. Examining relationships between humans and cultivated plants, Baumgartner navigates between the emotional and political realms of resource management, conservation strategies, and knowledge production.
